Amelia always wanted to be a music therapist…from an early age when she must met a child with Autism she sat next to him, stroked his hand and connected with him on a non-verbal level. His mum commented on how he does not normally sit with strangers. Amelia knew from this moment that she had a calling to work with people who have special needs. Amelia was also musical playing the recorder, piano and clarinet from an early age. One day her mum found an article about music therapy and she knew this was what she wanted to know. Amelia kept the article and completed her Masters in Music Therapy in 2015.
Amelia’s passion was music therapy was so strong that it led to her wanting to set up more music therapy posts and showcase the benefits of music therapy to everyone. This has led to multiple appearances on BBC Radio Essex (link to news page)…
Ace Music Therapy CIC has a very family centred approach which means we work closely with the immediate family network, involving them in therapeutic process where necessary. We also work closely with other professionals, liaising with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors and other health care professionals where necessary.
