Ace Music Therapy CIC is excited to announce our new service, led by music therapist Katie.
Katie Bolger is a registered music therapist, vocal coach and composer and is providing music therapy for people suffering from long Covid. The sessions are run from Katie’s music studio in Earls Colne, Colchester.
Katie specialises in singing for lung health and has received training from ‘The Musical Breath’ who have been commissioned by the British Lung Foundation. They equip music therapists and singing teachers with specialist knowledge to work with people with breathlessness, chronic lung disease and dysfunctional breathing patterns.
During these sessions, Katie will work closely with you to address both the physical and psychological impacts of the illness with gentle vocalisations, singing, playing instruments and movement. There will also be an opportunity to undertake song writing and musical improvisations as well as relaxation/breathing exercises to music.
As a HCPC registered music therapist, Katie uses music as a therapeutic tool to address feelings of loss, grief, pain and anxiety and provides a space to explore the connection between the breath, the mind and the body.
